Chile is closer than you think..

Arriving in Chile

Most international flights arrive in Santiago (SCL) in the early morning hours so we recommend booking with one of the local hotels in Santiago and informing them of your early arrival so you can enjoy an afternoon/evening before taking the next leg of the trip to Patagonia. While in Santiago, you can enjoy some great local cuisines or even try out one of the local wineries in the area. Santiago is a big city with a lot to offer, here are some of our recommendations: The San Cristobal hotel very near the heart of the city, the Bellas Artes district, Costanera Center and of course Cerro San Cristobal where you can take a tram to the top! Please give us a call and we will be happy to help you with your visit to Santiago.

Arriving in Patagonia

No prop planes!

You will need to book a flight from Santiago (SCL) to Balmaceda (BBA) and there are several commercial flights available. We recommend staying a day or two in Santiago and having a nice breakfast before heading to the airport to catch a mid-morning flight to Balmaceda. Call us if you are interested in some of the inside travel tips 🙂 We will be anxiously awaiting your arrival at the Balmaceda airport and help you with your bags and usher you to the vehicle that will take you to the lodge. The trip from the airport is only about 40 minutes and you will get a chance to see the wonderful scenery that is Patagonia along the way.

Experience the privacy, solitude and adventure of Patagonia at your own pace with a personal concierge guide to get your where you want to go in the region.

Enjoy the stars, there is very little light pollution here so the star gazing is amazing.

Upcycle

Reuse

Upcycling materials in the accommodations to not only keep the surroundings untouched  but to help reduce waste – that’s where the Containers come in! The main structure support of all the building in Eko Patagonia will be based on once used up-cycled shipping containers  instead of harvesting local wood… But don’t worry, once you step foot inside you will be amazed!

Preserve

Generations

We understand that building a lodge has an environmental impact. We want to protect and preserve this rugged land for generations to come.  That’s why, we use solar and wind energy wherever possible, with the aim to completely offset our consumption one day.  Today, we are making every effort minimize our impact on the environment, starting with recycling used shipping containers as the foundation of our buildings.
